I'm glad I'm finally listening to my mummy instincts too...
it's too important not to listen to what your heart is telling you.
I'm hoping with early intervention he can start school in 2013 and not have any problems with speech or not being able to relate to the other kiddies. :)Courtney https://www.blogger.com/profile/03932962770953000733noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-771183051350860687.post-46402613094533884812011-12-07T05:11:15.742-08:002011-12-07T05:11:15.742-08:00To be honest Courtney, it sounds like Jamie's ...To be honest Courtney, it sounds like Jamie's older brother (who is on the spectrum). He never had any real sense of stranger danger, even now he'll go up to big tough bikie dudes filling up their Harley's at a service station and just start chatting or ask to take a photo of their bike... :-/. He also doesn't grasp the concept of physical danger/risks, he's been in a few car accidents (thankfully no one was hurt besides the cars) because he couldn't think far enough ahead to see the risks in what he was doing. Like he wasn't just being stupid or a hoon, he just legitimately didn't realise. He never had any help with it though as he was only diagnosed in the past few years (he's now 28).

I'm one who hates throwing labels and disorders at kids unnecessarily but it sounds like it's a good thing you are sticking with your mommy instinct and getting a second opinion. xxx.Kelli Stevenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18349387066340504583noreply@blogger.com
